Responsibilities of the Head Secretary:
- Organizes the preparation of committee meetings;
- Supervises the implementation of the decisions of the Commission;
- Assists the members of the Commission in the performance of their duties;
- Is responsible for the working conditions of the Commission and its administration and for the organizational and technical equipment of the departments;
- Organizes the Commission's registry, document management and archives;
- Coordinates the preparation of the draft budget of the Commission and of its administration and the overall financial and economic operation;
- Ensures that the financial and material resources made available to the Commission are spent legally and appropriately;
- Approves the job descriptions of the administrative staff;
- Carries out any other tasks assigned to him/her by the President or the members of the Commission;
- Plans and implements training and qualification activities for the Commission's administrative staff;
- Advises on and monitors the activities of the European Consumer Centre.
