Responsibilities of the Head Secretary:

  1. Organizes the preparation of committee meetings;
  2. Supervises the implementation of the decisions of the Commission;
  3. Assists the members of the Commission in the performance of their duties;
  4. Is responsible for the working conditions of the Commission and its administration and for the organizational and technical equipment of the departments;
  5. Organizes the Commission's registry, document management and archives;
  6. Coordinates the preparation of the draft budget of the Commission and of its administration and the overall financial and economic operation;
  7. Ensures that the financial and material resources made available to the Commission are spent legally and appropriately;
  8. Approves the job descriptions of the administrative staff;
  9. Carries out any other tasks assigned to him/her by the President or the members of the Commission;
  10. Plans and implements training and qualification activities for the Commission's administrative staff;
  11. Advises on and monitors the activities of the European Consumer Centre.
