Regional Directorates

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out checks on compliance with the requirements of the regulations, the control of which is entrusted to the Commission;
  2. Gather information on dangerous goods and services on the market;
  3. Inform the Director General when dangerous goods and services are suspected to be on the market and when demonstrably dangerous goods and services are discovered;
  4. Gather information and provide it to the commission when unfair trade practices are suspected;
  5. Gather information on contracts offered to consumers with general terms and conditions;
  6. Enforce the orders issued by the President of the Commission to impose coercive administrative measures;
  7. Issue binding prescriptions for the elimination of non-compliances and breaches of regulations and draw up conclusions on objections in relation to established breaches;
  8. Notify the Director General when violations for which the imposition of compulsory administrative measures is envisaged are detected;
  9. Ensure the conditions for the work of the conciliation commissions in the territory of the respective regional directorate and participate in them with their representative;
  10. Carry out consumer protection information events in the territory of the regions concerned;
  11. Propose the preparation of consumer protection educational materials;
  12. Assist the competent control bodies in resolving consumer complaints and claims in the territory of the respective region, including complaints from consumers of heat, electricity and natural gas;
  13. Analyse the state of the consumer market on the territory of the respective regions;
  14. Coordinate actions and measures for consumer protection with the territorial subdivisions of other administrative structures, consumer organisations and trade unions in the territory of the regions concerned;
  15. Inform the public of the region about the activities of the Commission;
  16. Be responsible for the proper management and administration of the movable and immovable property assigned to them;
  17. Be responsible for the efficient and lawful use of the budgetary resources allocated to them in compliance with financial discipline.
