Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and gives opinions on draft legislation in the field of consumer protection;
  2. Provides legal representation and legal defence of the acts of the Commission, the President and officials authorised by him/her;
  3. Participates in the committees for the conduct of public procurement procedures and gives opinions on the legality of the procedures;
  4. Assists and ensures by legal means the timely collection of the claims of the Commission;
  5. Provides legal assistance to the Commission for the lawful performance of its functions;
  6. Gives opinions on the legality of draft contracts, orders and other acts and documents related to the activities of the Commission;
  7. Organises citizens' access to public information in accordance with their legal rights;
  8. Prepares and updates the job description and salaries of the Commission's employees in accordance with the legislation in force;
  9. Organises recruitment activities and competitions in accordance with the Labour Code and the Civil Servant Act;
  10. Organises and is responsible for the storage and maintenance of documents relating to the appointment and dismissal of staff;
  11. Prepares acts and documents relating to the establishment, amendment and termination of service and employment relationships with employees;
  12. Participates in the organisation of a performance appraisal system;
  13. Provides appropriate conditions for the work of the Conciliation Committee for Payment Disputes;
  14. Ensures that the services listed in the List of Uniform Names of Administrative Services (UNAS) are provided to natural and legal persons;
  15. Summarizes the information on the implementation of the decisions of the Commission and submits it to the Secretary General;
  16. Handles the documents and carries out the clerical work of the Commission and its administration, including the storage and processing of the central clerical archives of the Commission;
  17. Organises the examination of the value of the documents stored in the archives, their processing and their transmission to the Central State Archive;
  18. Organises the reception, issue and storage of electronic documents signed with a universal electronic signature;
  19. Provides technical support for the President and the members of the Commission;
  20. Ensures the implementation of the Commission's information policy;
  21. Plans and coordinates the development of the public presentation of the Commission and coordinates media appearances of the President, members and staff of the Commission;
  22. Is responsible for the publication of materials produced on the Commission's website;
  23. Selects and proposes events initiated by the European Union in which representatives of the Commission could participate in order to build a European partnership and studies the experience of other countries in the field of consumer protection;
  24. Develops and maintains the specialised information systems and databases of the Commission and its Regional Directorates;
  25. Is responsible for the information security and interoperability of the Commission and its Regional Directorates;
  26. Provides methodological assistance to the Commission's specialised directorates in the handling of user complaints in the field of information technology;
  27. Provides methodological guidance to the Commission's regional directorates in the field of information services;
  28. Assists the Commission's units in the use of the unified filing and information system;
  29. Maintains a register of legal entities that do not wish to receive unsolicited commercial communications.
